The Story

Picture
SAYA brand started on November in 2018, by a team with three people who have the same vision and strong passion on producing valuable Lao products. They then started designing and producing SAYA’s items with a small sewing machine at home.

SAYA Brand bridges the gap between skilled weavers in Laos, and current trends and demands from the local and international market, developing 100% natural hand-woven cotton fabric that is relevant to the market. The usage of natural cotton fabrics

It commissions artisans in Lao villages and co-designs cotton fabric with them. They then help to enable sales of finished goods, carrying out activities like the marketing and transporting of the goods.

The Impact

SAYA Brand supports skilled weavers across 6 provinces and buys about 200 meters of fabric from them every month. They also make it a point to dedicate 20% of profits back to the community and another 20% into further training and up-skilling of artisans. They work closely with the Developmental Organization in Laos.
