About Brand

Zero Waste YOLO is an environmental social enterprise reimagining waste as a resource rather than a problem. Through consulting, upcycling initiatives, and innovative recycling solutions, they help communities transform waste into valuable resources while fostering sustainable change. Guided by the belief that environmental, economic, and social well-being are deeply interconnected, they are working towards a future where the environment no longer needs protection.

The Story

Zero Waste YOLO was born from a deeply personal vision: to create a safe and healthy environment for future generations to grow up in Thailand. Founded on the belief that environmental, economic, and social well-being are interconnected, the enterprise set out to reimagine how waste is managed and valued within society.

From the beginning, YOLO’s goal has been to strengthen waste management systems, tools, and knowledge in Thailand while reducing the amount of waste ending up in landfills. At the same time, the team works to empower communities by turning waste into opportunity through upcycling and small-scale recycling initiatives that also generate income.

The journey has not been without challenges. During the COVID-19 period, the founder experienced the loss of key co-founders, including a life partner and key operational support. Despite these setbacks, the work has continued, driven by resilience, commitment, and a belief in building a more sustainable future through collective action.

The Impact

Zero Waste YOLO has made significant environmental and social impact through its waste management and upcycling initiatives. Between October 2022 and September 2024, the organisation and its partners helped divert over 60,000 kilograms of waste from landfill, contributing to an estimated reduction of more than 60,000 kgCO₂e in greenhouse gas emissions. This is equivalent to the emissions from driving a gasoline-powered vehicle for over 240,000 kilometres, or the carbon sequestration of nearly 1,000 seedlings grown over ten years.

From 2022 to 2025, their continued efforts have resulted in more than 77,000 kilograms of waste diverted from landfill, reinforcing their commitment to circular economy practices and sustainable resource use. Beyond environmental outcomes, their work has also generated measurable social value. A Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis conducted over a ten-year period (2021–2031) showed that every 1 THB invested in Zero Waste YOLO creates

approximately 1.78 THB in social value, reflecting its contribution to employment, capacity building, and community income generation.
