
About Brand
Tohsang Cotton Village's main vision is to create additional income for low income women by resurrecting and preserving traditional weaving and natural cotton growing in Khong Chiam, Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. It also educates and trains women to become artisans in traditional craft.

The Story
Tohsang Cotton Village was founded in 2018 by Prinyapa (Prairie) Yooprasert. Tohsang aims to create a circular economy by starting with supplying the farmers with seeds, paying them to spin the cotton and then bringing that cotton to the weavers. Other raw materials like dyes are also sourced locally. There are three people in the core team. However, they have an ecosystem of partnerships and relationships to support their business.
The Impact

Tohsang Cotton Village sources and operates locally, and creates economic opportunities for the area. It provides a place for the processing of raw materials so that the locals can continue using it in other forms.
Tohsang Cotton Village is entirely women led and owned. Their staff is 95% women and its outsourcing generates additional income to female weavers, spinners, natural dyers in the area.
